Outfit Post Italian Stylez

We had an Italian themed day at work a while ago. It was awesome! We ate pizza and pasta and played trivia based on Italy. We also got to go mufti and I won a prize for being dressed fully in the colours of the Italian flag. The plan was for everyone to wear red white and green but most people just wore jeans and a red or green top. I didn't think I really went all out considering I'd heard a few people were wearing coloured jeans but it turns out they wore black tops :/ they weren't very much into the spirit I say!

I won a nice bottle of red wine which I passed on to Matt because I haven't quite acquired a taste for red wine yet!

Anyways just a quick one from me today.
Ciao for now! :)

Repeat Pattern

Whoa two posts in one weekend! I must have a lot of spare time at the moment! :P

Anyways, I've finally convinced myself to get cracking on some of my design homework. I still have LOADS to catch up on but at this very moment we are doing repeat patterns.

Here are a few that I knocked up this morning and I was wondering if you guys could give me your opinion on what you guys like the most. I'm having a hard time deciding which one I want to paint and use for my portfolio.
You will need to click on them to see them bigger.

I obviously spent the most time on the tear drop type pattern. But I really like the circle-y, flowery, fireworky thingy majig pattern. And the triangles were the very first pattern I drew (they actually look much cooler in my visual diary because I'd coloured it in, I would post a pic up but my scanner pooped itself).

Colours are still up in the air at the moment. But I will decide on those once I choose which pattern to choose.

What do you think guys? :)

Nailed it

On Tuesday night I put on the 1000 hour nail foils that was in the cute package I won in Miss Directions' give away. I've actually always wanted to get a pair of these but never got round to it. So this was my first go at putting them on.

They were pretty easy to do, pretty much just put the foil on your nail, cut it to size, blow dry it and then smooth out the edges.

I have no idea what I do wrong with nail polish but it barely lasts longer than a day on my nails. It always chips or just peels off no matter what brand I use, how many coats are applied or how careful I am to avoid chipping. These foils are still going strong two days later with the exception of one nail that I didn't smooth out properly so it had a fold in it and ripped. The foils come in a pack of 16 so I'll be fixing that rogue nail in just a moment.

Can't wait to try out other designs!

Dear Exclamation Mark

Dear Exclamation Mark

I have to apologise for using you so much. I just get so excited when I'm typing that I want to use you all the time. This seems to happen alot while I am commenting on a blog or facebook post.

I think it is because you are so flexible. You help me to express happiness, excitedness, anger and frustration. I usually only use you for the purposes of happiness and excitedness though, so atleast that's a plus.

Anyways I just thought I'd let you know how much I appreciate you and to thank you in your understanding of my overuse of your services.

Kind regards
AshMac

Pump it!

So I have quit boot camp and moved on to crossfit. I do it with Matt and have been going most days of the week for the past three weeks. It is intense! If you don't know what crossfit is, you don't want to know :P Ha ha.
Well how I would explain it goes a bit like this: everyday the workout is different, depending on the workout they usually go for an average of 30 mins, usually involves a certain amount of rounds of 3 lots of exercises repeated over the 20-60 minute time slot or for time eg you do 3 lots of 30 push ups, 200m run, 15 burpees and then you record your time. You also do certain techniques with weights on the bar. (Someone please correct me if my definition of crossfit is off).

The first time I had seen a crossfit video on youtube I felt the pain they were feeling just from watching it! I watched the people vomit afterwards because they worked themselves way too hard. I never ever wanted to try crossfit. Ever. But Matt was super keen so he found a gym literally 2 mins away from us and started going. He told me that they want you to learn all of the techniques and it is definitely nowhere near as horrible as the youtube video looked. So I gave it a go.
Check me out pumpin that broom stick! :P
Oh that undie line is disgraceful! Will need to get some proper sports tights in the future! :P

After the first week I could barely walk, but now I really enjoy it. I can feel myself getting fitter even after only three weeks. The running kills me and the squats and the burpees but I'm still able to walk away after and feel like I have accomplished something and that maybe next time I can push myself a little more.

One of the workouts I have done recently. I only did a half Eva which I think was only 3 or 4 rounds of 200m runs, 15 kettlebell swings and 15 ring pulls. My arms died that day. :P

I have just recently graduated from the pvc pipe and broom stick and moved onto the bar for one of the exercises. I'm looking forward to using the bar more. And soon I will be learning to do real pull ups but they'll be assisted with a band (this scares me a little).

Watch this space! I'll be posting up more photos of my times to see how I improve!

My week in words

So if I'm going to get back into this blogging thing I really need to get into the habit of taking photos. Blogs with photos are so much more interesting!

Anyways...

This week did not feel like a short week for me. No idea why, it just felt as long as a normal week.

Tuesday: This was fake birthday, cake eating day. We went to Muchos Mexican for dinner on the fake birthday girls request and it was amazing! Move over burritos, chimichangas have stolen my mexican food heart and I've always avoided chili con carne for some reason...not any more! We were soo full but we needed to fit in the cake...
I know everyone has been wondering how Oscar the Grouch's butt tasted. It was actually really delicious! The peppermint icing didn't taste like toothpaste at all and even though the cake was overcooked it kinda worked. It was really hard to cut through though because I left it in the fridge over night and the buttercream set really hard. Everyone loved it so much half the cake got completely demolished, Matt doesn't even like mint and he hoovered his slice. And my other two friends, one who doesn't like icing and the other who doesn't like cake (great combo hey!), also smashed their pieces down! So even though it was ugly it was a win!
After the bill had finally been paid we wandered down to the pub and watched the end of Australia vs Japan. It was a good night.

Wednesday: Since only half of the cake had been eaten because we were already really full from dinner, I took the rest to work. Everyone loved it! Win win! Then Wednesday night I went to the gym to work off all the cake and mexican I had eaten in the last two days. After the gym we had just enough time to get home and snuggle on the couch to watch the origin. I actually showered and didn't pay much attention to the first half, but the last 10 minutes of the second half I was on the edge of my seat! Go blues! About time you gave us a decider match!

Thursday: Nothing exciting happened this day, just the usual work and stuff. It didn't rain so we actually got to have netball training. Thank goodness I've been going to the gym because I honestly wouldn't have been fit enough to survive it! :P

Friday: Again nothing too exciting. Although Matt did make me bacon and eggs for breakfast! And even though my legs were aching he dragged my butt back to the gym. It was a hard workout, thankfully my legs aren't still hurting for netball today. Oh and we caught Ritchie Rich on telly! I haven't seen that movie since I was a kid! Memories.

Today I have umpiring duty for netball. I'm pretty nervous, I've only ever done it once before, I barely called anyone up for anything and I know there was lots of contact and stepping :O So long as parents on sidelines don't scream at me I should be fine!

So that was my slightly unexciting week. Oh but an very exciting part of my week was winning Miss Directions' giveaway! I was such a lovely surprise, I did a little bit of a happy dance and could not stop smiling! Thank you so much ^_^ I hope all my followers also follow Miss Directions. I've followed her almost as long as I've had my own blog and I adore hearing about her travels, she takes awesome photos and knows how to put together a great outfit. Pretty sure I'm jealous of your beautiful style. :) Oh and we're Swift buddies! Although I'm sure she looks after hers alot better than I do my own.

Catch ya's on the flip side! :P

Fake Birthday Cake Fail...

Hello my friends! How did everyone enjoy their long weekend? I spent mine lounging around and catching up on a little homework. So there was nothing really exciting on my end.

But today is one of my bestest friends fake birthdays. We decided that the end of December was a terrible time to have a birthday because we were always too focused on Christmas and we were always really short of money and sometimes forgetting about our dearest friend! :O So like the Queen, this year we moved her birthday to a more convenient financially stable time of the year. (Although as far as I know the Queen moved her birthday so that it fell at a prettier and warmer time of the year).
Because she loves peppermint I tried to make this cake:

But it ended up like this:
To start with my oven decided to chuck a hissy fit and cooked the outside of the cakes but was still gooey and wobbly in the middle, so I left the cakes in a little longer but now they are slightly hard around the edges and possibly a little burnt, but cooked perfectly in the middle!

Then when making the buttercream, I decided it wasn't green enough so I packed in the dye. And when putting the buttercream on I couldn't get it smooth enough even when trying to smooth it with a boiling hot metal spatula. So I tried to hide the ugliness of it with chocolate chips and crushed up mint slice biscuits. But if you ask me it still looks like Oscar the Grouch's hairy butt.

I just really hope it tastes better than it looks. We shall find out tonight after dinner!

Cute blog award :)

I want to give a thank you to jessigirl84 for giving me The Cute Blog Award. I've only just started reading her blog The GIRL who DREAMS but it's been great getting to know her and following her wedding plans and travels. I am so jelly of her impending DISNEY wedding!

Here are the rules once the award is received:
• Thank the blogger that gave you the award and link back to their blog. CHECK!
• Share 7 facts about yourself. ON IT'S WAY!
• Pass the award on to 10 other bloggers and let them know. AND HERE'S WHERE I BREAK THE RULES... Since this award went around yonks ago all of the lovely blogs I would have nominated have most likely have played along. And I'm lazy :P

Okay, so now for 7 facts about me. Here goes:

1. Before I had a mobile phone (back when I was like 12), I could recite every single phone number I ever needed to know. But now the only numbers I know off by heart is Matt's and the Reading Writing Hotline. It's that catchy jingle. Oh and Pizza Hut.

2. I very rarely wear matching socks. It's more fun that way.

3. This may be a bit TMI but... Whenever I go to the loo in public I usually go for the second furthest cubicle away no matter how badly I need to go. I used to go to the very last one until someone once told me that most women go to the last toilet because we instinctly think it must be the cleanest and ironically due to that, they aren't. I don't know if it's true and I'm pretty sure cleaners do a pretty good job at cleaning each toilet exactly the same. But it's just something that's stuck with me. It's strange I know.

4. I am one of those people that can't live without their mobile phone nearby. I am constantly checking it even though I know there are no messages or missed calls, always checking facebook even though in the last two minutes I last checked it nothing had changed and I get really anxious when I leave my phone at home. It's pretty sad.

5. I quit boot camp and being super careful about what I eat... :| I'm not very good at being committed to things like that. Woops! Someone please guilt me into motivation?

6. I love spearmint milkshakes. They are hard to come by and it's been forever since I've had one but I am always on the lookout for them.

7. One of my favourite weekend activities is going shopping at the farmers markets on a Sundy morning. We buy all our fruit and veg from there and eggs if Matt's mum's chickens haven't laid enough. Last time I went I got the most delicious banana bread with berries in it. Mmm mmmm I wish I could make delicious banana bread, mine always turns out more like cake and not so nice.

So thats me! I hope you guys enjoyed my odd facts and feel free to copy and paste if you wanted to join in. :)

See this face?

It's the face of a girl who just won her first ever netball game! I was so excited I screamed like a little girl so loudly. I couldn't believe it! We worked so hard for that win and now I am eating Indian as a reward. Nom! So I just wanted to tell someone because I'm home alone tonight. :)

Sorry sorry sorry sorry sorry sorry sorry!

I think the title expresses my guilt for not blogging for let me see... *counts fingers* FOUR MONTHS! Yikes! Where has this year gone? IT'S JUNE! >.<

Thank you so much to the wonderful xoCATox for your sweet comment saying you miss me! And a thank you to jessigirl84 for including me in the cute award, I promise I will make some time to get onto that! ALSO I somehow gained another 10 followers whilst I've been AWOL. How did that happen? Thanks for the love!

So I think the best way to tell you guys what I've been up to these last few months is to show you! It's just a brief snapshot of what I've been up to and some of these things are also from before I neglected blogging, so here goes:

On New Years Eve, I attempted an updo.

I also attempted to make a rainbow layer cake, but it failed miserably.

I have been working hard in my design course. We have just finished colour and moved onto drawing and rendering. I'm a bit behind but I'm still really proud of my work so far :)

I had to return my awesomely awesome number plates because we now have boring things that our money needs to go to now, like bills. It was a very very sad day.

Two of my lovely friends and I got asked if we wanted to join a netball club, so we did! I have never ever played proper competitive outdoor netball only mixed indoor netball for fun, so I was pretty nervous for our first game. But now I have a hoop in my backyard for practising and jarred many fingers since. We are only in C grade, haven't quite got a completely reliable stable team and not won a game yet but it's still great fun!

We had a trashy girls night...

I got my hair cut even shorter and went darker.

I went to an L themed party and made myself a box car playschool styles. This was before I completed it with L plates, straps for my arms, blinkers and gave the wheels spokes. I have no idea why I'm wearing a police officer hat though...

But that's what I've been up to. There has been other things but without photographic evidence I just don't remember :P

I promise I'll get back into the swing of blogging and post atleast once a week and I have to catch up on everybody elses ventures!

Ciao for now! :)

Happy ♥ day!

In celebration of Valentines Day, I decided to make some simple cards and send them off to my bestest girlfriends. I made the envelopes from this template here and the little scrabble letters from the same website Oh Happy Day, here.

Here is the end product:
Apologies for the blurry picture, I completely forgot to take a photo but luckily one of my girlfriends wanted to gloat about how awesome I am and posted it on facebook! He he.

Even though it's our very first Valentine's Day as a married couple, I've decided to keep things very low key for us this year. We're going to enjoy each others company with a quiet dinner at home and maybe snuggle up to a lovey dovey movie (whilst I catch up on some homework...). I've come to the conclusion that going way over the top on Valentine's Day is kind of pointless for us because everyone gets spoilt and some lame-o people get competitive about it :| So from now on I've decided that we'll be celebrating Valentine's Day by truly appreciating each others company and celebrating the little things that we do for each other most days of the year that make us feel loved. I think Matt really liked that idea coz it took the pressure off him.

In saying that I will still be surprising him a little. I'm going to buy him his favourite flavoured milk and a packet of oreos (also his favourite) then tie them up with red ribbon. And for dinner I'll make him his favourite meal, steak with Dianne sauce, I might even let him pick the movie! Ha ha. I hope he feels the love.

And I hope everyone else gets their fair share of love today too! Everyone deserves to be loved!

Mud Camp

On Saturday morning we did boot camp in the mud and I had so much fun.

That's me in the pink on the right!

On my Monday session I let myself down pretty badly, I didn't do all my reps and each time I went to a new station I'd stop for a moment before I would get back into it. I wanted to blame it on the heat but I knew it was just me being a sook. From then on I decided that I will not stop and think about what I am doing, I will just do it. When I stop I let my brain register that I am in pain and since I'm only used to pain being a bad thing not something that will make me stronger, I wooss out.

Thursdays session it was raining so we did boxing undercover, going in with the mentality of "JUST DO IT" really helped, I woossed out a little but not nearly as much as I did on Monday.

Then came Saturday morning in the mud. I really pushed myself and I am really happy with my efforts. I ran 100 metres and back dragging a tyre strapped to my waist and I didn't slow down to walk at all. Then we did 90, 80, 60, 40, 30, 20, 10 metre shuttles and even though I was a little slower I still jogged most of the way. And when we did stations I would do a few reps on the harder option and bumping it down instead of just going straight into the easier option. After our hard work doing stations and shuttles we played a really fun game of touch footy with an exercise ball. I didn't know the rule so I was running aroung like a nutter but I almost caught one of the really fit boys. Also I can do push ups on my toes! I can't go down very far yet and after a few I bump it down to my knees but I'm proud of myself!

I think Saturday mornings are my favourite sessions. It's such a struggle to get out of bed but afterwards you feel like it was worth it. I'm so proud of all my efforts and I'm looking forward to Wednesdays session. Bring it on!

PS. My very first design class starts tonight! More excitement! ^_^

NOTD - Rimmel Sky High & OPI Black Shatter

Its taken me most of my life but I have only now started to actually get into nailpolish. Every now and then I used to get acrylic nails but they screwed up my nails something chronic and I refuse to get them now. I can grow my nails long but after a while I get sick of them and always end up biting them off. (I know its a disgusting habit, but I can't kick it!).

So without further ado here are my feral short nails adorned with Rimmel Sky High and OPI Black Shatter:

The blue is actually a little more of an aqua colour in real life. I really like the Rimmel 60 seconds range. I like using the brushes and how quickly it dries. I only have one OPI nail polish (otherwise engaged) and then the start to finish and have found it takes forever to dry but I also think that could be because for that particular colour to become less see through I have to put 4 coats on and they never dry.

This was my first time using shatter, which was actually borrow from a friend. I'm still unsure of it. I like watching it shatter and I like that it dries so quickly too. But I'm just not sure on the effect. It kind of looks like someone drew on your nails with a black sharpie two days ago and its starting to rub off. But sometimes I look at it and think it is pretty cool.

Buy it, Use it, Break it, Fix it

Soo I feel like my laptop of 4 years is starting to get pretty tired and I've been thinking I want to buy into the tablet market... I know a tablet is in no way a replacement for a laptop but we have Matt's desktop computer for anything that can't be done on a tablet. Or I could just do it at work...

I'm trying to decide on whether I want to get an iPad2 or a Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1. I did a little bit of googling research and found PC Worlds Good Gear Guide has done the hard work for me and made comparisons of each. That took the technical bit out, but since I have no real idea what any of it means here are my reasons why I like each of them:

iPad2
Pic taken from the Apple website

  • Even though it's already supposed to be super user friendly, I have an iPhone so I wont have any problems using it, my aunty also has one so I know it's not all that different to an iPhone
  • It comes in white
  • I love the Apps and App store and I am obsessed with Apple's photobooth :P
Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1
Pic taken from here.
  • Slightly bigger screen
  • It's Android and I've never played with that before so I'd like to fiddle and play around with it
  • Not that it would make much of a difference but it is capable of using Flash player
  • I wont be limited to itunes
And thats my reasons... Pretty lame hey. I think I might go into a JB HiFi and see if I can play around with the Galaxy Tab. Hmm decisions, decisions. Ha for all I know once I tell Matt that I want to get a tablet he might not even let me get one! Any advice guys? :)

Busy Busy!

I have a very busy week ahead of me this week. Holy Moly I hope I survive it!

Last week I had the opportunity to work in a higher position but now I'm back in my regular position that wasn't filled whilst I was away I have ALOT of work to catch up on, not to mention I have totally booked myself out everyday after work.

Here's what my schedule is looking like:

Monday - Boot Camp

Tuesday - Much needed trip to my hairdresser. I've got some pretty bad regrowth going on. I've decided that I want to get my hair cut shorter again into an actual bob like Dianna Agron. I'm undecided on whether I want to stay blonde or to go closer to my natural colour with a dark blonde/light brown. Suggestions are welcome and encouraged!
Pics I've found on Google.

Wednesday - Induction for my design course. I haven't told you guys yet but I applied to do a Certificate 4 in Design and got in! I'm getting really bored in my admin job so I'm doing this course part time as a path for career change and a creative outlet. I'm surprised they let me in the course since my interview was a bit of a bomb because I've had no design experience and no idea where I ultimately want to go with it. But I am excited and can't wait to get started!

Thursday - Boot Camp

Friday - BBQ at a friends house

Saturday - 6am Boot Camp

Phew, I'm getting tired just thinking about it! This week is also the start of the 1 Million Kilo Challenge, who else is doing it? I won't be doing the exercises because I am already signed up for boot camp but I'm keen to try out all the recipes. I like having someone else set out a meal plan for me! Good luck to all those doing it with me! :)

Australia Day Adventures

So I hear everyone had a great Australia Day! Ours was also fun! This year we decided to go adventuring in Sydney. A few days before I looked up what was going and and decided we should check out the Your Song Music Festival and Markets at The Rocks. It was lots of fun and since Matt hadn't really ventured into that part of Sydney before we went for a walk around the Opera House. We also went on a jet boat ride and even though we were wearing the provided ponchos we still got pretty wet! Here are pictures from our day:
When we got near The Rocks they had set up deck chairs as a chill out area. It was great to watch everyone pass by, even though we got wet bottoms from the rain.

These wheelie bins were actually "mobile discos" they were converted into speakers powered by solar panels on the lid. They were really cool and pretty loud too!

Nomming on some corn on a stick at the makets.

Monet cupcakes. Cookies and Cream on the left and Passionfruit on the right. The icing was yummy but the cake was dense, they were a little disappointing.

One of the stages set up under the Harbour Bridge. Every now and again we'd see the bridge climbers walk past.

The Australian flag; handy for keeping sunburn off your neck!

We bought art! Which now costs more to frame than we paid for the actual pictures. Lol.

And we sat on the railing of the Opera House watching boats sail by and jets fly around.

Boot Camp... More like Death Camp.

Last night I started my very first ever boot camp. It was a bit of a shock to the system, I am SO UNFIT! The running killed me more than anything. But even though I felt like vomitting and dying I pushed through. Now I feel awesome! Keen to go back on Wednesday and push harder!

TAGGETY TAG - You're it!

The wonderful Natalie from one of my favourite blogs in the night sky tagged me in this game of TAG! You're it!

Now I'm going to be a lazy party pooper and not actually tag anymore people because all of the people I would have tagged have already participated in this game. But I'll still post questions for those who want to answer mine, in case you haven't been tagged yourself or if you just like my questions...

First Things First, The Rules:

You must post the rules.
Post eleven fun facts about yourself on the blog post.
Answer the questions the tagger set for you in their post, and then create eleven new questions to ask the people you've tagged.
Tag eleven people and link them on your post
Let them know you've tagged them!

Eleven Fun Facts About Me:

1. My favourite colours are green and yellow.
2. I have two dogs and two turtles.
3. I listen to Triple J.
4. When I am angry, I clean.
5. I cannot hold a grudge for a very long time.
6. Max is my favourite boys name.
7. All my friends think I'm creative, but really I'm just stealing idea's from the blog world or pinterest.
8. To get my two litres of water in a day I leave a big water bottle on my desk at work and drink everytime I'm bored. I'm getting there.
9. My sister calls me the crazy aunty.
10. I love the feeling of crunching leaves under my shoes.
11. Potatoes are my favourite food.

Questions From Natalie :

1. How do you get to work?
I drive in my AshMac mobile. I'm really thinking about getting my motorbike licence though so I can get a Scooter!

2. Are you a shower or a bath person?
Shower all the way. It takes far too long to fill up our bath and I'm too fidgety to just lay in water for an hour or so.

3. What is your favourite drink (either Alcoholic or non)?Non Alcoholic would have to be the Mildura Orange and Passionfruit Juice. Both Matt and I love it and a 3 Litre bottle could be gone in less than two days. Woops! There are too many delicious cocktails out in the world for me to choose a favourite alcoholic drink!

4. Do you like your name? If not, what would you change it to?I like my name but I HATE my middle name. It's not so much that I don't like it it's more the fact that I hate the combination of my first name and my middle name and the way my middle name is spelt. Seriously "Ashley Alesha"

5. What is your favourite city or country?I'm not a very seasoned traveller, I've been up and down the east coast a few times whilst I was a kid, and I've only been overseas once. But I'm still going to say there's no place like home. Good old Newcastle it is for me!

6. Are you a summer or winter person?I hate both! I would like every day to be a warm 25 degrees, but I prefer summer because I dont get sick from heat, like I do from coldness and rain.

7. What would be your dream job?I don't have anything specific but so long as it is interesting, challenging and lets me be creative.

8. What is your favourite movie?Dirty Dancing. Matt seems to think that I watch it whenever I'm upset. Whenever he catches me watching it he always asks me whats wrong!
9. Have you ever done something crazy for love? No, I'm too lame tame :P

10. Are you an early bird or a night owl?Early bird.

11. Do you like the colour of your bathroom? No. If Matt would let me I would be renovating the sh*t out of our whole house :P

Apologies x infinity

Hey guys!

Sorry I have been MIA. My work computer has decided it doesn't like blogger so I haven't been able to comment anyone/see comments/or just post at all.

I could have posted from home after work or on weekends but I reserve that time for catching up on tv eps, spending time with the Mr and generally keeping away from the computer (unless it's to check out facebook :P), those who have desk jobs and stare at the computer 7 hours a day, 5 days a week will know what I'm on about!

I have plenty of things for you guys to catch up on if your interested so keep posted!

Pups!

Photobucket

Oh Hi There! My name is Kate but I only answer to Katie. I love belly scratches and lots of cuddles. Whilst my owners are hanging clothes on the line I like to watch them and try to be super cute so they stop what they are doing to give me attention. I'm very nosey and like to stick my nose under the neighbours fences to see what they are up to. I also like to go on adventures, I used to love adventures so much I escaped all the time but now I only go out with my owners.

My name is Jack. Did you say ball? I'll go find it for you and then will you throw it? I got it! Throw it again! Wait? Where did it go? *searches the whole yard* Found it! Throw it again!
FOOD! *swallows whole* Have you got anymore?

Jack and Katie are brother and sister. They love each other very much.

While even though there is plenty of room in their dog house and they used to snuggle together, now Jack sleeps on top of the house whilst Katie sleeps inside. And when they aren't rushing to the door they follow the little footpath. When they get given bones or treats Katie likes to eat it far far away from Jack so he doesn't try to eat it on her. Katie likes to take her time eating things and lays down, while Jack guzzles his food down like a vaccuum cleaner. Then he watches Katie and looks at us as if we'd given her more food! They are funny dogs, I love all their little quirks and personalities.

Tiny Tower - I'm addicted

I'm always on the lookout for new apps whether they are games, health related, super useful etc. Today one of my old friends posted about Tiny Tower on Twitter.

I am hooked. Pretty sure I've spent the last 5 and a half hours building floors, giving people jobs and restocking stores. I might need to delete it off my phone so I can get some work done...

Has anyone else got any good apps they love?

It has started...

It was back to work for me yesterday. *sigh* It wasn't so bad though because not everyone is back this week, I get to ease myself into it instead of being bombarded.

Yesterday I also started my attempt at a more healthy living. It wasn't that great of a start because I had a Sausage McMuffin in my rush to work for breakfast and taco's for dinner because I was at a friends house. I did however have a healthy lunch of a salad and vitawheats, AND I exercised!

The exercise was pretty funny, I WAS going to do body pump at the gym but left work too late so I decided to start the C25K. C25K is a program that is aimed to get couch potatoes like myself up and running 5km's in a 9 week period. There's more info about it here. However, I decided I'd take our dogs Jack and Katie along with me. It wasn't such a great idea, they run alot faster than I can and ended up just dragging me down the footpath completely missing all of the intervals.

They are STRONG puppies!
(I promise to post a better picture of them another time, I might even do a post on them)

So I gave up on the dogs, took them home and did a workout from the Nike Training Club App, I downloaded this ages ago after Mrs B from the Wifey Chronicles blogged about it here. This was the first time I used it and HOLY MOLY! It is awesome! It worked me pretty hard and I can feel it everywhere today.

This afternoon I plan to restart the C25K (without the dogs!). Let's see how it goes!
